Nancy, Karen and Trish are native San Antonians, born and raised. Like many people who call San Antonio home, they came here through the career of their Air Force Officer father. All 3 graduated from Roosevelt High School and after college moved back to San Antonio to start their own families.


The 3 Sisters have spent many happy years in the pursuit and consumption of really good wine! They discovered the urban winery concept about 8 years ago at another location right here in San Antonio and became big fans and consumers of the wines they could make for themselves. Being discriminating wine drinkers, the sisters were very impressed with the superb quality of the wines along with the added benefit of the low sulfites in the wine.

One evening, perhaps after drinking too much wine, the sisters decided that this was a business that they would love to get in to and so was eventually born, The Stray Grape Urban Winery. The urban winery concept means that you don’t need to travel to visit wineries and taste wines from around the world; The Stray Grape Urban Winery brings the wine making experience to you, right here in San Antonio. Even better, this is a true family business! Nancy, her husband Joe and their 2 grown sons, Karen, her husband Duane and their 3 grown sons and Trish, her husband John and their grown daughter and 2 sons have all had a hand in helping to keep this operation running smoothly. They even rope in Mom and Dad (also known as Bev and Larry) to help out on a weekly basis!
