About Burger in the Square - Roanoke
BURGER in The Market Square
Burger opened in November 1988 during the City Market Building’s heyday.
My wife and I took over in June of 1999 with the intention of building on Burger’s popularity.
The daily ground beef was upgraded to several select cuts of beef, daily manicured and ground, then hand pattied for a winning dining experience.
By adding a selection of better buns and cheeses as well as sourcing Farmers Market local produce for our ingredients, we sought to become the favorite local burger eatery.
Once we relocated to Brambleton Avenue 10 years ago, we continued to grow in size and seating.
We also began adding new and varied menu options with grilled and fried chicken , revived a Pulled Pork Barbeque sandwich and Platter from our time in the Market Building.
also adding Salads and regional Hotdog offerings
For the meantime, we will continue to innovate new, trendy burgers
like the Blazing Saddle, theZorba and the Cherry Burger to go with our 30 years of favorite sandwiches. We’ll expand our in
house smoked barbeque pork options, as well as chicken sandwiches and the salad selections we have
at the Brambleton location. Our Homestead Creamery milkshake selection continues to expand.
With that said, we would like to thank everyone who picked us “best burger” over the last 20 years.
That tells us that our decades of effort to become a valley favorite eatery have been as productive as
we could have hoped.Come celebrate with us soon!
